Kief-Joshua Vineyards, Arizona Wine Country’s newest winery and tasting room located at 370 Elgin Road, Elgin, is pleased to announce its grand opening weekend on October 20 & 21, from 10 am to 5 pm.
Stop by this twenty acre vineyard, located less than one hour south of Tucson off Route 83, to taste their new full-bodied releases, which include Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Also meet the winemaker, Kief Manning and assistant winemaker, Rebecca Wadsley.
Kief, a graduate of Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, earned a degree in Wine Technology and Marketing from Monash University in Victoria, Australia. He will complete his graduate degree in Viticulture (grape growing) and Oenology (wine making) at the University of Melbourne this fall. Wadsley was born in Victoria Australia. She has a degree in Agricultural Science, majoring in Viticulture and Oenology from the University of Melbourne and has been employed at De Bortoli’s Winery in the Yarra Valley and White box Winery in northern Victoria, Australia, as well as Cumulus Winery and Philip Shaw Wines in New South Wales. She will return to Australia in December to resume her position in the Australian wine community.
Regular tasting room hours are Friday through Sunday, from 11 am to 5 pm., and tastings for larger groups are also welcome by appointment. The $4 tasting fee includes a free souvenir wine glass. Please call 520-455-5582 with any questions.
